A very short cookie list.
One small cookie of our own remembers your choice. Google Analytics cookies only arrive if you say yes.

What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser so it can remember something between pages or visits. Browser storage works much the same way, and we treat it the same here.
The cookies we use
| Name | Set by | What it does | Lasts | When |
|---|---|---|---|---|
fp_consent | Framepoint | Remembers your answer on the cookie card, so we don’t ask on every page. | 6 months | Always. Strictly necessary. |
_ga | Google Analytics | A random ID that lets Analytics tell one visitor from another. | 13 months | Only if you say yes. |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit. | 13 months | Only if you say yes. |
We also keep a copy of your choice in your browser’s local storage, so it still works when cookies are blocked. It holds one word: “granted” or “denied”.
How analytics works here
Before you choose, Google Analytics isn’t loaded and nothing is sent to Google about your visit. We use Google’s Consent Mode, set so that ad storage, ad data and ad personalisation are always off.
If you say yes, Analytics loads and starts counting. We’ve switched off Google signals and ad personalisation. Our privacy policy lists what Analytics records.
If you later say no, we stop Analytics on that page and delete the _ga cookies our site can reach.
Services that load without cookies
Two services deliver parts of every page. They don’t set cookies on this site, but like any web server they see your IP address and browser details when your browser asks for their files.
- Google Fonts serves our typefaces.
- jsDelivr serves the open-source library that draws the sketches.
Your choices
- Use Cookie settings in the footer of any page to switch analytics on or off.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we don’t show the cookie card and analytics stays off unless you switch it on.
- Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies. Blocking ours just means we’ll ask again.
- Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site.
Changes
If we add or remove a cookie, we’ll update this list and the date at the top. If we add a new kind of cookie, we’ll ask you again.
